Human Growth Hormone Deficiency?
I was born with significant HGH deficiency and took HGH until I was about 11 years old. I was instructed by my endocrinologist to take it for longer than I did but I was stupid at the time and didn't feel like dealing with the injections. I will go to the endocrinologist later this year to explore this issue further, but I'd like a bit of information before then. If someone is born HGH deficient, does that mean that the person should continue with injections throughout life? What effects can HGH deficiency have on the body once a child has stopped growing? I'm currently 19 and wonder whether it would benefit me at all to start taking it again (at my doctor's instruction, of course). I was born with a condition that HGH deficiency is associated with so I would assume the deficiency would persist throughout my life. I understand that consultation with my doctor as well as further blood analysis will be necessary to answer anything definitely. Please interpret my question as generally as possible to make it easier to answer or draw conclusions. Thank you. I am female. I'm not concerned about cosmetic benefits- I've just heard bits and pieces of information which has led me to believe that there may be a biological disadvantage to such deficiency later in life.

- You have pretty well answered your questions yourself. You can also go to ASK or Goggle and type that in and get so much info. That is what I would do.======
- If your doctor says you need to start taking it again and you have the money then do it. I do know for a fact that nobody on Yahoo Answers knows anything about hgh. Questions like these only get like 1 or 2 answers tops. Again "biological" isn't too specific. If you want at least "personal theories" from answerers then you gotta be really specific, because i doubt anyone is qualified enough to answer your question based on what you have written
- at 19yr old the chances are your growth plates have fused and GH will not give you any more growth.. because someone is HGH restricted does not mean they need the injections for life, there is a pint that the injections will do nothing..............that point is when growth slows to nothing or the growth plates fuse, which usually is between the ages of 15-20. my daughter is HGH restricted(turner syndrome) and is 11yr old she's been on growth hormone injections for 7 yrs, she's still just 4ft tall even with her treatment......... your deficiency is with you for life but even "normal" people do not grow right through their lives EDIT for the poster above me you state no one on here can answer this question,, well maybe you can not but i have 11yrs of knowledge on HGH so i can answer with truth and facts, and i bet i'm not alone in that...........my daughter is very badly affected with a shortage of natural growth hormone, in fact even though she has a medical condition she's also only got 50% of the GH levels usually seen wth this condition
